Getting active on this website again

It’s been a while since there’s been activity here. But that doesn’t mean that Friends aren’t actively working on Transition. I’d love to hear from you. What are the next steps for us?

Since a couple of years ago, the movement has grown and it’s needed even more now. Several new books have been published by Rob Hopkins which we’ll review soon.

  1. Allen Stockbridge says:

Ruah, I am glad to see this re-ignited. I agree that the need is greater than ever and now is the time.

There are probably a lot more towns with active Quakers – Bellingham, WA for one.

Transition Whatcom has been sluggish lately, not achieving the potential demonstrated by the enthusiasm of the Great Unleashing held in around 2010-11.

I would love to see more sharing of ideas by Quakers involved in local Transition Initiatives.

    • Great to hear from you. I’m just finishing up with a book, “Rising to the Challenge: The Transition Town Movement and People of Faith.” (Probable title). It’s for a multi-faith audience. Rob Hopkins is writing the foreword. It should be available late spring or early summer.. I also co-leading an FGC workshop this summer with Pamela Boyce Simms about the Transition Movement. Maybe we’ll get some excitement.
